The SC Potsdam volleyball players have a good chance of crowning their first appearance in a final by winning the title in the fight for the German championship.

In the third playoff final game at MTV Stuttgart, the Brandenburg women prevailed 3:2 (25:15, 14:25, 25:21, 22:25, 15:9) and are in the best-of-five series now 2:1 ahead.

Coach Guillermo Naranjo Hernandez's team, which finished the main round only eleven points behind Stuttgart, can complete the title win with another win in the fourth match in Potsdam on Friday (8 p.m. at Sport1).

However, if MTV Stuttgart wins, a fifth game on Sunday (7.15 p.m. at Sport1) should bring the championship decision.

In the regular season, Potsdam had already taught the Stuttgart women the only defeat in 21 wins with a 3-0 win in Stuttgart.

In front of 2251 spectators in the sold-out Stuttgart Arena, the guests had to do without their regular Libera Aleksandra Jegdic.

The Serb suffered a muscle injury.

She was represented by Sarah Stiriz, who was only 18 years old.

Both teams recorded a set with great clarity at the beginning.

The time that followed was far more exciting.

In the third round, the Potsdam team had already pulled away to 20:15 thanks to the clever direction of setter Sarah van Aalen, but still had to worry about winning the set when their diagonal attacker Anett Nemeth was blocked to 23:21.

In the fourth set, the guests kept up until 22:22, but then they couldn't avoid the tie-break.

There, Potsdam quickly led 9:2 and could not be deterred from the road to success.
