It can not be directly claimed that Luleå received an optimal charge before the fourth Swedish Championship final against Färjestad.

After having problems with the plane that would take them to Karlstad, they did not land until shortly after 7.30 pm, when the match was actually supposed to start.

Just over half an hour later, they arrived at Löfbergs Arena after receiving a police card and due to the delay, they only had one hour to prepare before it was time for a drop-off.

And once the match started, Färjestad showed no mercy.

1-0 came after Pontus Widerström, from a position in Luleå's goal area, steered Patrik Lundh's finish with the skate.

The situation was carefully examined by the referees and the situation room in Stockholm, which after a few minutes offensive and soaking came to the conclusion that Widerström did not disturb Luleå goalkeeper Joel Lassinantti enough and ruled goals.

With 1.40 left of the period, Färjestad then extended the lead to 2-0 after Joakim Nygård freed Per Åslund who in turn sent the puck high up to the left behind Lassinantti.

However, one can in no way claim that Luleå looked marked by the troublesome charge.

They created some sharp goal chances already in the first period and 8.43 into the second it was reduced after Oscar Engsund got on a real party hit from the blue line.

And just over ten minutes into the third period, it was equalized after Julius Honka broke an FBK attack in the middle zone and served Brendan Shinnimin who passed to Jack Connolly before he got the puck back and put 2-2 behind Dominik Furch in Färjestad's goal.

Somehow it felt natural that the already delayed match would go to extra time - and of course it did.

A few minutes before midnight, the fourth period started and just over four minutes of play, it was decided after Marcus Nilsson found Jesse Virtanen in the castle who could make the decision.
