It was the Russian stars Kirill Kaprizov and Joel Eriksson Ek who were behind Minnesota's first victory in this playoffs.

Kaprizov scored a hat trick and the Swede was very close to doing the same.

Eriksson Ek started the scoring halfway into the first period and made his second for the evening right at the beginning of the second.

The second he did on his own when he twisted the puck and elegantly rounded St Louis goalkeeper Ville Husso.

He also thought he had made a third, but it was rejected for offside on Marcus Foligno after the opposing coach had challenged the verdict.

By then, the audience had already had time to throw in their hats and caps.

- I think that "Moose" should buy new hats for everyone who threw them in, says Eriksson Ek after the match.
