Ellen Wangerheim joined Hammarby's a-team in earnest already last year and played all 22 matches and started in 16 of them.

But this year she has been given an even bigger role and played more than before.

With the Swedish Cup, Damallsvenskan and European Championship qualifiers with the F19 national team where she has an important role, there have been twelve competitive matches in less than eight weeks for the offensive talent.

After F19 made it to this summer's European Championships, it will not be much calmer in the future.

- It feels.

I'm lucky I'm young so you can still play a lot.

When it becomes so much, you still start to feel it.

But I stay fresh and it works.

"Often forgets the mental"

When SVT Sport visits Tuesday's training on Kanalplan, Wangerheim runs training on its own to relieve the bone membranes.

- I generally think in the club that you have good contact with both the coach and the medical team and see to it that the body holds, that is the important thing.

But also that you have the mental strength.

It is an aspect that is often forgotten.

How's it going with that bit?

- Yes, it's all right.

I feel most a little mental when it gets so heavenly, but I feel so good in this team.

It's fun to get down on Kanalplan so it also helps a lot.

Coach Pablo Piñones-Arce sees great development potential in Wangerheim and thinks she has taken great strides.

He believes that a lot of playing time is a key to the continued development but is aware of the load.

- That's right, and that's a trade-off we have to make.

She has also been loaded in various positions and has had to play as a very offensive fullback in some matches.

It is not always optimal to play such an offensive player that we would like to have far up as a full-back, but she has taken on the role.

The first Allsvenskan goal

In Hammarby's 2-0 victory against Umeå just over a week ago, Ellen Wangerheim scored her first Allsvenskan goal.

It meant a lot to the 17-year-old.

- Very lovely.

And to be able to do it in Hammarby ... I have been cheering on this club since I was four maybe.

So it was nice and big to do this.
