A couple of Swedes left the KHL quickly when Russia invaded Ukraine.
But many remained.
One of these was the 29-year-old Olympic defender Linus Hultström, whose Metallurg Magnitogorsk lost the final series against CSKA Moscow by 3-4 in matches.
"Something very exciting going on"
Now, just four days after the decisive final, Hultström has signed a four-year contract with Linköping - a club he played for from 2008-2014.
- There has been something very exciting going on in Linköping during the season with Klas (Östman) as head coach.
I know some players in the team from before and it is very positive going on.
I really want to be a part of that journey with Linköping, says Hultström on Linköping's website.
