Real Madrid compensated for its delay with a goal to win 3-1 at home to Manchester City in the second leg of the Champions League final on Wednesday, to set up a date with Liverpool in the championship final scheduled in Paris at the end of this month.

Thus, Real Madrid won 6-5 on aggregate, as City won the first leg that took place at their home 4-3 after an exciting match as well.

Real Madrid delayed the Algerian goal, Riyad Mahrez, in the 73rd minute.

The two teams tied 5-5 in the first leg and the return matches, so the match was extended for two additional periods of half an hour.

Five minutes after the start of the first extra period, French striker Karim Benzema made the score 3-1 for Real Madrid with a penalty kick to lead the Spanish champions to the final, which will be held in Paris on May 28.
