Al-Mahalla Al-Masry intends to take legal action against its former coach

Ghazl El-Mahalla Club, which is competing in the Egyptian Premier League Football Championship, announced the transfer of the contract of the former technical staff led by Abdel Hamid Bassiouni and his assistants to the legal advisor of Ghazl El-Mahalla Football Company to take all legal measures regarding the matter, in a manner that preserves the club's full legal rights after his departure to train Smouha team.


Ghazl El-Mahalla said in a statement posted on his official page on the social networking site (Facebook) today, Tuesday: “With great surprise, we have all followed the development and escalation of events during the past three days, regarding the file of the club’s former coach, Abdel Hamid Bassiouni, where the news spread at the beginning. With the start of negotiations between him and the Smouha team, despite the knowledge of all parties that he and his entire technical staff are linked to contracts with Ghazl Al-Mahalla until the end of the current season (2021-2022), and the contract ended with the announcement of the contract already, as Smouha Club announced the matter through the official page of Smouha, As well as through Bassiouni's personal page."


He added, "Accordingly, the board of directors of Ghazl Al-Mahalla Football Company met this morning to discuss the matter and review what happened during the past days."


And he continued: "To clarify the truth of what happened, the board of directors confirms its knowledge for nearly ten days that the negotiation line between Bassiouni and Smouha was opened, through a member of the board of directors of Smouha Club, and the board of directors - despite knowing all these moves - did not want to raise the matter, out of concern. On the stability of the team, which had two very sensitive matches ahead of it, and in the hope of the board of directors that the technical staff would reconsider its disgraceful position, and return to the right path. A negotiation session was held between Bassiouni and the Smouha administration, despite his presence in Alexandria to carry out the tasks entrusted to him by the district, for which he receives his salary, and contracts were signed between them immediately after the Al-Ittihad match.

The statement revealed, “Finally, the chairman of the company’s board of directors was surprised by Bassiouni calling him upon his arrival in Egypt yesterday morning to tell him of his desire to leave the club, in a very strange behavior that contradicts the most basic rules of self-respect and respect for charters and covenants, and in an act that is completely incomprehensible in light of the provision of a council Managing all the capabilities of the device, and standing behind it in the most difficult moments in which it went through, from a decline in results, the last of which was its loss of five full points in the last two matches, while he was busy negotiating with Smouha, as well as in light of the unlimited support of the device in front of the grumbling of some of the great Mahalla fans who love the entity. Al-Mahalla continued his statement, “Based on the foregoing, the board of directors took a decision to transfer the contract of the former technical staff led by Abdel Hamid Bassiouni and his assistants to the legal advisor of Ghazl Al-Mahalla Football Company to take all legal measures regarding the matter, in a manner that preserves the club’s full legal rights.”


The statement concluded: “The Board of Directors of Ghazal El-Mahalla Football Company, as it affirms its respect for all parties of the Egyptian football system, calls upon those responsible for the system to assume their responsibilities in the face of such situations that undoubtedly offend the image of Egyptian coaches in general, and do not take into account the issue of sponsoring investments. The huge incurred by the Egyptian clubs, which negatively affects them, are such small actions that are not befitting a coach who respects his name, nor a club that must respect competing clubs.


It is noteworthy that Ghazl El-Mahalla occupies the tenth place in the Egyptian league standings with 20 points from 17 matches.
