The four-time Olympic gold medalist Mo Farah competed today for the first time since he missed the Olympics in Tokyo last summer.

He competed in the Vitality 10,000 race in London and was expected to win in the comeback.

Instead, it was Ellis Cross who won in the time of 28 minutes and 40 seconds, four seconds ahead of Farah.

- It must be at least 20 years since I was defeated by someone outside the elite.

But he should have credit, he was very determined, says Farah to the Telegraph and continues:

- This is where I stand, this is the reality.

I could not shift up.

It just was not there.

Farah also says that he has no thoughts on this summer's World Cup, but he has not given up on the European Championships.

- Right now I have a lot of work to do to come back, compete again and be in good shape, the star says.

If the 39-year-old was disappointed, Cross was all the happier.

- I can not understand it.

I did not think I would make it until 20 meters before the goal.

I can not describe the feeling, he says.
