She has had her base in Tenerife for the past seven years.

Here the waves are much better than at home in Sweden and it is also good surf more often.

Which is a prerequisite for success.

- The Olympics is my big dream and it is that dream that makes me invest and continue to train even harder and develop as a surfer, says Emmy Wilén.

Getting good at surfing takes time.

A good surfer may get a few minutes a day on the board.

Most of the time is actually spent paddling and getting in the right position.

And in addition, you should tampas with all other surfers who also want to twist your wave.

- It took three years before I got to go out and surf with the local guys on certain waves.

But now I get it, says Emmy Wilén.

The training is completely focused on surfing.

The gym sessions are high-intensity in the same way as a surf session and if it is flat, Emmy Wilén surfs on the asphalt.

- There is a skateboard that is just like a surfboard.

So there you can practice movements so that it settles in the muscle memory, says Emmy Wilén.
