Here in Sweden, Elin Cederroo's title match against the American Franchón Crews-Dezurn has taken most of the attention.

But internationally, most of it has been about the match between lightweights Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano, a match that has been described as the biggest women's match ever in boxing history.

19 187 spectators

It was the gala's main match, and for the first time ever two women settled in the main match in what New Yorkers themselves usually call "The World's Most Famous Arena", Madison Square Garden.

The winner of the match, which was decided in front of a packed arena (19,187 spectators) was Irish Taylor.

Two of the judges had her as the winner (96-93 and 97-93), while the third had Puerto Rico Serrano as the winner with 96-94.

- This was clearly the best night of my career, says Taylor, who has won all 21 matches in his professional career, and also has an Olympic gold in lightweight from the 2012 Olympics on the merit list, according to the news agency AP.

Serrano got rid of three belts

The match involved no less than five championship belts.

Serrano was the holder of three before the match, and Taylor two.

35-year-old Katie Taylor can thus without a doubt now call herself the world's best lightweight boxer.

- This was a fantastic evening, I really had to fight hard.

I had to perform in a way that will define my career.

We definitely brought out the best in each other, she says, according to the news agency Reuters.

And she thinks people will remember the match for a long time.

- People will definitely talk about me and Amanda Serrano for many years to come, she says according to AP.

"Women can sell"

Amanda Serrano believes that the match can have great significance for women's boxing, and considered the match to be a receipt for something.

- Women can sell, women can fight and we can put on a damn show!
