The last NHL round offered a lot of drama when it came to deciding who would face each other in the playoffs.

Pittsburgh with Marcus Pettersson will now for the first time since 2016 take on the New York Rangers in the playoffs.

It is clear after Pittsburgh defeated Columbus 5-3 while Rangers in turn won over Washington (3-2).

Two goals by Nylander

Marcus Pettersson scored one goal and two assists, including the 3-0 goal.

William Nylander scored two goals at the same time when his Toronto defeated Boston 5-2.

Toronto now begins the playoffs, which kick off next week, with two-time reigning Stanley Cup champions Tampa Bay, while Boston meets Carolina.

14 saves by Källgren

But Nylander was not Toronto's only Swede to pick up points - Pierre Engvall scored a goal and an assist and Timothy Liljegren an assist.

Erik Källgren saved 14 pucks.

In the Western Conference, Nashville lost a 4-0 lead to last-placed Arizona, who eventually won 5-4.

The loss means that Nashville with, among others, Filip Forsberg instead of Calgary now has to face Colorado, which has been by far the best in the Western Conference.

Calgary, in turn, will face Dallas instead.

One match in the regular season, Winnipeg – Seattle, remains but without significance for the quarterfinals of the Stanley Cup.

The first playoff matches are played on Monday and the playoff series are decided in the best of seven matches.
