Former German tennis player Boris Becker was sentenced Friday to two and a half years in prison by British justice on four counts related to his personal bankruptcy.

At 54, he will thus be imprisoned after being found guilty in particular of having hidden 2.5 million pounds sterling (about 3 million euros) in assets and loans to avoid paying his debts.

He was also accused of having paid large sums of money into his personal account from his professional account and of having concealed 825,000 euros in debt and shares in a technology company.
