FIFA is rubbing its hands.

Qatar registered 23.5 million ticket requests during the second phase of sales of precious sesames for the next World Cup, which will take place from November 21 to December 18 in Qatar.

"The eight most demanding countries are England, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Brazil, the United States, France, Mexico and Qatar," the International Federation said in a statement.

Besides the final, the games with the most orders are Argentina-Mexico, Argentina-Saudi Arabia, England-USA and Poland-Argentina.

This sales phase, which closed on Thursday, was launched on April 5.

A draw will decide the allocation of tickets.

“Ticket applicants will be notified by email of the outcome of their order from May 31,” FIFA said.

Seats 30% more expensive than in 2018

During the first sales phase organized between January 19 and February 8, 804,186 tickets had already been allocated, while 17 million had been requested.

There are a little over three million available in all (two million for sale and one million reserved for Fifa and its partners).

Between 1.2 and 1.4 million people are expected in the emirate during the event.

A last “last minute” sales phase, the dates of which are not known, is planned.

It is the principle of first come, first served that will apply, then and no longer a draw.

For spectators from abroad, the prices of individual tickets for the first round range between 250 and 800 Qatari riyals (between 62 and 200 euros) for a match.

For the final, it is necessary to count between 2,200 and 5,850 riyals (550 and 1,460 euros).

The prices of tickets reserved for residents of Qatar run from 40 to 750 riyals (from 10 to 190 euros) per unit.

On average, they are 30% more expensive than during the World Cup held in Russia in 2018.
