Adjusting the date of the Liverpool match in the English Premier League

The Liverpool team is scheduled to meet its host Southampton, to play its penultimate match in the English Premier League this season, on May 17.

And the British news agency (PA Media) reported today that the English Premier League decided to change the date of the Southampton and Liverpool match in the prestigious competition, due to the participation of the red team in the FA Cup final against Chelsea at the ancient (Wembley) stadium in the British capital, London, on the 14th of the same month.

Based on this amendment, German coach Jurgen Klopp's team has to play two matches during the last week of the current football season, as Liverpool compete to win the championship with Manchester City (the defending champion).

Manchester City will be a heavy guest on West Ham United on May 15, before concluding their season a week later, as they host Aston Villa, while Liverpool plays its guest with Wolverhampton.

Liverpool had defeated Southampton 4-0 at their meeting at Anfield in the first leg of the competition last November, where the meeting witnessed the Portuguese Diego Jota scoring two goals, while the Spaniard Thiago Alcantara and the Dutchman Virgil van Dijk scored a goal.

Liverpool, seeking to regain the Premier League title they lost last season, is currently second in the English Premier League table, one point behind Manchester City (the leaders), before the two teams played their last five matches in the tournament.
