Athletics' Olympic offensive is the name of the initiative that Swedish Athletics and SOK are now launching.

It will "help juniors reach the world elite for seniors"

The initiative is aimed at active people with coaches who have the ambition to take the step from junior elite to world elite for seniors.

- We hope to be able to support the athletes of the future to succeed on the sports field and at the same time feel good as an individual and feel safe in the team.

We hope that our experiences both as active themselves and leaders in various contexts will be useful for active in this initiative, says Carolina Klüft in a press release.

A large part of the investment will be the two camps abroad that will be arranged every year.

Active people and coaches who are part of Athletics' Olympic offensive will go to two camps abroad per year together with active people who belong to SOK's support program Top and Talent.

Right now, the first camp is organized when established Swedish world stars charge together with the blue-yellow future names in Bar, Montenegro.

Development meetings as well as follow-up and support will also be offered in Sweden.

Those who are part of the group can take part in SOK's resource team with diet counselors, performance psychologists and exercise counselors.

"It will be heavenly fun"

The ultimate goal is to optimize the active opportunities to reach their full potential with a vision of medals at future Olympics, the Athletics Association states.

And heavier names to lead this venture are hard to find.

Olympic gold medalist Carolina Klüft together with her husband, former pole vaulter, Patrik Klüft.

“It is with great gratitude that we are here together with Sweden's foremost athletes on the junior and senior side.

It will be so much fun and be a part of Swedish athletics again after so many years ", writes Patrik Klüft on social media.

- I am so happy to have Carolina and Patrik as leaders.

They stand for so much competence and commitment, says new national team captain Kajsa Bergqvist,

To join the group, you must have placed in the top 8 during the 2021 season at the European Championships or the World Cup for young people (plus two extra places).

Those who have joined the group are guaranteed a place for two years if the active one continues to invest.

A bad season due to injury or illness does not mean that you lose your place.

The selected are active born 2001-2004.
