There were unfolding typhoons, singing and raised scarves when the Stockholm derby between AIK and Djurgården was played at the national stadium.

The sun was shining outside the concrete walls of the Friends arena and inside, on the lawn, it was hot.

And in the end, it was AIK who got to cheer the loudest.

Nicolas Stefanelli arranged the victory - and tonight there will be a black and yellow celebration.

Smooth start

The match start was even and the team took turns to own the ball and create half chances.

Djurgården's Victor Edvardsen came to double opportunities in three minutes when he first fired a shot that AIK goalkeeper Kristoffer Nordfeldt picked, and then shot high over after a corner.

Just before the half-time break, Djurgården got that big bang.

Bilal Hussein's sensitive right foot found Nicolas Stefanelli who with a forehead beautifully sent in 1-0 for AIK.

Djurgården then created some chances in the second half.

After just under an hour of play, the guests got a real opportunity to equalize.

A post was sent in towards an inward running Hjalmar Ekdal who finished and forced Nordfeldt to a parade.

No goal there.

Nordfeldt played great

In the 64th minute, the home team then had a golden chance to expand.

The ball landed at Jordan Larsson's feet and he was able to finish on a volley - but high over.

With barely a few minutes left, Djurgården got a new opportunity.

A post was sent in against Kalle Holmberg who nodded towards goal - and a new sharp save by Nordfeldt.

Stefanelli's goal eventually became the only match.

AIK will now face Gif Sundsvall in the next round and Djurgården will be visited by Sirius.
