As many as seven runners passed the European Championship qualifying limit during this weekend's competition and it was a high level at this year's Swedish championship.

Erik Olofsson ran his first ultra competition less than a year ago - this year he set a new Swedish record with a margin of 74 meters.

He averaged 5.24 minutes per kilometer.

- It was only on the last mile that I took the lead, then my supporter started to get excited that there was a minimal opportunity on the Swedish record.

I ran everything I could last hour, it was absolutely awful!

With two minutes left, I got cramps, was knocked out and did not know if it was enough when 24 hours were done.

Incredibly wonderful feeling when it then became gold and a Swedish record, says Olofsson to friidrott.se.

Personal best by Anna Carlsson

On the women's side, Anna Carlsson won on her new personal record, 228,298 kilometers.

She averaged 6.18 minutes per kilometer.

The European Championship qualifying limit for women is 215 kilometers and on the men's side 235 kilometers.

- I am a role model for how

not

to set up a 24-hour race.

Had not so even split, would have run slower at the beginning and faster at the end.

But I am happy with my own result even though I was not so happy with the execution, says Carlsson to friidrott.se.
