Drogba fails to win the presidency of the Football Association in Ivory Coast

African football legend Didier Drogba failed in his bid to reach the position of president of his country's Football Association, after leaving the first round of voting.

The Federation of Côte d'Ivoire stated via the Internet, that Yassine Idriss Diallo was elected president of the Federation, after defeating his rival, Suri Diabate, with 63 votes to 61 in the second round.

Drogba, 44, led his country in a golden period of his career, which saw him receive the award for the best African player of the year twice, and he also received great appreciation in his country, which holds the title of historical scorer for its team.

Drogba's titles include winning the 2012 European Champions League with Chelsea, in addition to four English Premier League titles and the same as the FA Cup, and he won the League Cup three times.
