Ivory Coast football legend Didier Drogba failed in his bid to become president of his country's Football Association, after he was eliminated from the first round of voting in the elections.

The Ivory Coast federation stated via the Internet that Yassin Idriss Diallo was elected president of the federation, after defeating his rival, Suri Diabate, with 63 votes, compared to 61 in the second round.

Drogba's titles include winning the 2012 European Champions League with Chelsea, in addition to 4 English Premier League titles, the same as the FA Cup, and he also won the League Cup 3 times.
