On April 23, nearly 30 cross-strait students from Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China and other universities came to Shougang Park, Shijingshan District, Beijing.
As one of the leaders training camp activities of the ice and snow carnival for college students on both sides of the strait, students from both sides of the strait visited the only snow venue in the Beijing competition area of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics - Shougang Ski Jumping Platform, and Chinese freestyle skiers Gu Ailing and young snowboarder Su Yiming won gold medals here.
Then, the students walked into the curling hall to experience the atmosphere on ice; climbed to the 40-meter viewing platform of the third blast furnace of Shougang, and had a close encounter with the industrial cultural heritage of Shougang.
According to reports, Shougang built a factory in 1919. After Beijing successfully bid for the 24th Winter Olympics, the park was transformed into the office area of the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee and the National Winter Sports Training Center; the original Shougang cooling tower standing by the Qunming Lake, Witnessed the birth and splendor of the world's first ski jump that has been permanently reserved.
