Morocco's Wydad Casablanca qualified for the semi-finals of the African Champions League, after drawing in an exciting match without goals with its guest CS Belouizdad of Algeria on Sunday.

Wydad took advantage of its 1-0 win in Algeria, to face in the semi-finals the Angolan team Petro Atlético, which ousted South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns from the quarter-finals.

The other confrontation in the golden square brings together the Egyptian Al-Ahly, the champion of the last two editions, who overthrew Raja Casablanca, and Algeria's ES Setif, who qualified at the expense of Tunisia's Esperance Sportive.

Belouizdad seemed the most dangerous outside his home because of his strong desire to compensate for the loss of the go, and he had the first opportunity to score in the 19th minute through striker Khair El-Din Marzouki after goalkeeper Reda Taknouti went out of his net, and the ball was on its way to the empty net but was pushed away by defender Amin Farhan.

Wydad waited until the last minute of the first half to respond with a header from defender Ashraf Dari, which passed over the goal.

Wydad's performance improved in the second half and relied on shooting from a distance, and the most prominent attempts were in the 56th minute, when goalkeeper Tawfiq Moussaoui removed Ayman Al-Hassouni's shot.

Wydad missed an opportunity to score in the 76th minute when Zuhair Al-Mutarji hit a double ball outside the goal from close range, and the visitors pressed in search of a late goal, and substitute Karim Aribi hit the post.

But fellow goalkeeper Moussaoui was sent off two minutes before the end of the original time for attacking Libyan Moayed Al-Lafi, Wydad striker, after reviewing the video.

The Algerian team demanded a penalty kick in overtime, but the referee refused to calculate it after reviewing the video technology, so that Wydad qualified for the golden square with difficulty.
