The meeting was interrupted by the referee Rémi Landry while Quevilly, 18th and for the moment play-off, led 3 goals to 0. She had been stopped for the first time after the first jets of smoke in the wake of Quevilly's second goal- Rouen (17th), from the stand behind the Lorraine goal.

A sadly historic first

Nearly half an hour after the match was interrupted and the players returned to the locker room, the stadium announcer announced that the match would be definitively stopped.

In the event of a permanent interruption of a match, the regulations of the Professional Football League provide that the file falls “within the competence of the Disciplinary Committee of the LFP”.

"An official decision by the Professional Football League will be made in the coming hours," said the Quevilly-Rouen club in a press release.

Since its creation in 1967, the ASNL had never played in the third division.

The club experienced its golden age in the 1970s when, thanks to a goal from Michel Platini, the Lorraine region won the Coupe de France (1978) by beating Nice.

A victory in the Coupe de la Ligue (2006) is the second most glorious line on the record of Nancy, who have also won the second division French championship five times.

ASNL was still playing in Ligue 1 in 2017.
