Guardiola plots to frustrate Liverpool and invites City to benefit from his experience

Manchester City coach Guardiola said today that he will treat all his remaining matches in the English Premier League as finals to thwart the uprising of rivals Liverpool, calling on his team to benefit from his previous experience in winning the title in the last breath.

Leaders City scored 77 points from 32 games, one point ahead of tireless Liverpool, who are seeking to deny City two consecutive league titles, while Watford are fighting a battle to avoid relegation on Saturday.

Guardiola said that these factors mean that his team must develop a mentality of decisiveness and a knockout blow to the opponents.

"Of course, we cannot lose any points, and the same applies to competitors," he added.

City and Liverpool entered a similar title struggle three years ago when Guardiola's team beat Merseyside by one point on the last day of the season.

He continued, "We will try to prepare the injured players and be focused. When tomorrow's match is over, we have another game in three days in the Champions League (against Real Madrid). Then Leeds United. We have to be ready and comfortable until the moment of the match. We have to win, but we must." We play well first to get the desired result. Results are not guaranteed but wins are the most important thing at this stage."

Kyle Walker's condition will be evaluated before the match after sustaining a leg injury.

Defenders John Stones and Nathan Ake are also facing delayed fitness tests due to some soreness.
