The last time Stina Nilsson ran a competition as a cross-country skier was on December 28, 2019, in the Tour de Ski.
She then canceled the competition due to a rib injury, an injury that kept her away for the rest of that season and also chose to switch sports to biathlon.
But on Thursday, it was time for a comeback.
When the Swedish Championships in sprint relay were to be decided in Bruksvallarna, the 28-year-old was present.
Stina Nilsson competed with Anna Dyvik and finished second.
- It was fun!
This was decided after the Swedish Championships in Piteå.
At first I just thought, "no, no, no!", She tells SVT Sport.
Why did you think that?
- I have not ridden a classic in two years, I do not know this anymore.
Then it was aroused to a curious, and I'm very happy with it.
But if there are a few more races in the future, time will tell.
- No, this was the exception that confirmed the rule.
But what if Mora calls and needs reinforcement in the future?
- In relays, I have said that I will not be impossible in the future.
But it has to fit into my competition calendar.
The sprint relay races on Thursday were the last Swedish Championship competitions this season.
