Oscar Alsenfelt has more or less become synonymous with Malmö Redhawks.

The 34-year-old was raised in the club and has spent most of his senior career in the Skåne team.

He has been one of SHL's best goalkeepers during the 2010s and was named the league's best goalkeeper in 2017.

But last week the news that Malmö breaks with Alsenfelt - despite one year left on the contract.

The press release was short and it was mentioned that the parties were discussing a future position in the association.

- It must stand for Malmö, right now I have a contract until 2023, Alsenfelt says to SVT Sport.

Alsenfelt says that it was Malmö who wanted to break the contract.

- I was surprised and have spent the last few days trying to gather thoughts.

Surprised is the word.

Do you feel unappreciated?

- No, I would not say that.

There are a lot of fans who have heard of it and many of my teammates that I have played with in recent years have heard of it.

I have become very happy about that.

It's not a fun situation, but something nice has come out of it anyway.

There are many who have heard of it and said that you are appreciated.

It's somewhere the players you play with and the fans you want to appreciate what you do and I have really felt that love from them, he says.

But do you feel unappreciated by the club management?

- How much they appreciate me is a question you can ask them.

Alsenfelt has previously said that it is Malmö he wants to play in and that he wants to be part of taking the club forward.

But after last week's announcement, the situation is unclear.

- I'm not really finished in my process in this that has happened.

I have chosen to tell my agent that I have chosen not to take a position on the bids available.

I have to let it sink in and come to a conclusion about what I want to do, he says.

These offers, is it in Sweden and abroad?

- Do not know exactly which clubs it is.

Me and the agent are going to have a meeting on Monday and sit down.

Right now I have a holiday and I want to relax.

I do not know exactly, it's a bit here and there.
