The women's volleyball team at Dresdner SC was eliminated in the Bundesliga playoff semi-finals.

After the defending champion had already lost the home game against SC Potsdam 3-0 on Easter Saturday, the women from the Elbe city lost in the best-of-three series in the second game on Tuesday evening at the Brandenburg women 3-1 (34-32, 18 :25, 10:25, 24:26).

As a result, the DSC missed out on making the finals and ended the season with a bronze medal.

The women from Potsdam reach the final for the first time in the club's history and are now playing for the championship against Stuttgart, who won the preliminary round, who beat Schwerin in two games.

From the start, both teams exchanged blows at eye level in front of 1348 spectators.

The DSC women started much better than in the first game.

Above all, diagonal attacker Maja Storck scored again and again from a stable assumption.

In the crunch time of the first set, Potsdam was able to fend off nine set balls, but a mistake by their top scorer Anet Nemeth brought Dresden success on the tenth attempt.

In the second round, Dresden could not maintain the level, missed too many chances in attack and the block also proved to be too holey.

In the third section, the guests completely lost their thread, in the fourth set the DSC held back until the end, but after 114 minutes an ace by Nemeth on the second match point secured the deserved victory.
