Marcus Johansson began his NHL career in Washington and had his most productive seasons at the club.

But in 2017, the former Färjestad player left for New Jersey in what was the first of many clubs.

Johansson managed to graze five clubs in as many seasons before he was traded from Seattle Kraken to Washington in March to strengthen the team to the playoffs.

However, there has been no further offensive success for Johansson, who before tonight's meeting with league-leading Colorado had scored a goal and an assist in eleven games.

But last night he shouldered the role of hero.

Conor Sheary twisted the puck in the attack zone and played Johansson who with a direct shot shot into 3-2 in the net with less than ten minutes left to play.

The goal was also the last of the match and thus fixed the final result to just 3-2.

Thus, Johansson also made sure that Colorado's mighty victory suite stayed on nine straight wins.
