Jeonbuk Hyundai has kept the pride of the professional soccer K-League teams in the Asian Football Champions League.



Jeonbuk won 1-0 with Yokohama F. Marinos (Japan) at Thong Nhat Stadium in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, 1-0 thanks to Ilyuchenko's penalty goal in the second leg of the 2022 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League Group H Group H I did.



Jeonbuk, which had drawn a goalless draw with Sydney FC (Australia) in the first match, achieved their first victory and climbed to the top of Group H (4 points).



Jeonbuk is the only team in the K-League to win the second round of the group stage.



K League 2 Jeonnam Dragons lost to Patum United (Thailand) and Daegu FC and Ulsan Hyundai lost to Lion City Sailors (Singapore) and Johor Darul Takjim (Malaysia), respectively.



Jeonbuk, who entered the ACL last season as the K-League 1 champions, are aiming for their third career title after 2006 and 2016.



Jeonbuk, who overcame Yokohama's offensive at the beginning of the game, took the victory by scoring the winning goal from a penalty kick in the 31st minute of the first half.



Jinsoo Kim stumbled and received a penalty kick while driving the ball into the penalty area, and Ilyuchenko's strong right-footed shot from the kicker hit the opponent's goalkeeper and was sucked into the goal.



Yokohama tried to counterattack, but Jeonbuk did not allow it.



In the 42nd minute of the first half, Tomoki Iwata's shot from the front door was saved by Jeonbuk keeper Lee Beom-su, and Euver's shot, which caught the spilled ball, did not break through the defense wall of Jeonbuk.



Jeonbuk, leading 1-0, kept the lead until the end by one goal.



Jeonbuk tried to score an additional goal in the second half, but Kunimoto's right-footed shot, which exchanged a pass with Song Mingyu in the second half of the second half, and Ilyuchenko's left-footed shot attempted in the 30th minute when Ilyuchenko faced the opposing keeper, slightly went over the post and could not run further.
