Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, who successfully defended his title in the Monte Carlo Masters 1,000 points, maintained his fifth position in the professional tennis rankings (Monday), while Spanish runner-up Alejandro Davidovich Fokina advanced to 27th place.

The Greek title holder in the emirate did not add points to his tally, while the Serbian Novak Djokovic, ranked first in the world, lost points after his exit from the second round against Davidovich on the latter's way to the final.

Davidovic, the 22-year-old who advanced 19 places, ranked 27, the best in his career, despite his record still devoid of titles in the professional tournaments.

Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, who was knocked out in the semi-finals in Monte Carlo by Davidovic, also advanced six places to occupy 23rd place.

And kept Russian Daniil Medvedev, absent from Monte Carlo because of a hernia, second behind Djokovic and in front of German Alexander Zverev, who lost in the semi-finals of Monte Carlo against Tsitsipas.

Among the women, Tunisian Anas Jaber slipped to tenth place in the women's professional rankings, in front of Spain's Garbine Mugurosa.

Jaber rose to ninth place at the expense of Mugurusa in particular after reaching the final of the Charleston American Tournament (she lost to Belinda Bencic), noting that she had previously ranked seventh in the best ranking in her career and Arab tennis history.

The young Polish woman, Iga Sviontik, retained the lead, which was ceded to the retired Australian Ashleigh Barty, due to the large difference of about two thousand points with the Czech Barbora Krijcikova and the Spanish Paula Padusa.

Only one adjustment was made to the top 20 positions due to the absence of tournaments at the end of last week, as the players were busy in the Billie Jean King Cup qualifiers (formerly the Federation Cup), with the competitions being resumed with the German (500) Stuttgart and Turkish Istanbul (250) tournaments on clay courts.
