It was in the middle of the first half that West Ham's Nikola Vlasic and Burnley's Ashley Westwood clashed.

It looked pretty harmless but Westwood immediately signaled that the situation was serious in the sunshine at London Stadium.

While Westwood was being treated on the pitch, Vlasic was completely devastated and was comforted by several teammates.

It was unnaturally quiet in the big arena.

This is an injury to the right ankle, which twisted in an unnatural position.

When Westwood was rolled out after eight minutes of treatment with an oxygen mask attached to his neck, basically the entire arena stood up and applauded.

He received many pats and cheers on the way out and gave a small smile from the stretcher.

Immediately after Westwood was rolled out, there was another couple of minutes break after an audience incident of some kind.

When the match finally started, Burnley made it 1-0 straight away.

After a ribbing nod, Wout Weghorts nodded in the ball and celebrated in restrained ways.

It was as if the West Ham players were most taken by the long break.

The match is in progress and is 1-0 to Burnley.
