Over the years, football players have endured threats and hatred.

Several of the victims open up to Göteborgs-Posten about the situation.

The former national team member Sebastian Larsson, everyday in AIK, talks about hateful comments on his Instagram, among other things.

- I know that I spoke then and said that it is one thing if it is against me, but if my family and others are to be drawn into it, it will be a completely different thing, he says to GP.

Called "Fucking monkey"

The roughest thing that has reached Larsson:

- People have wished you were dead so they could pee on your grave.

Helsingborg's striker Anthony van den Hurk says that he has been exposed several times - and he remembers an opportunity last year.

- It happened after the Falkenberg match.

It involved my family.

I scored three goals and then someone went out on Instagram, my girlfriend too.

They called me different names.

Racism.

"Monkey".

"Fucking monkey, go eat a banana".

I kept it to myself ”.

"Should take care of my child"

A third who tells of threatening comments is Malmö's Anders Christiansen.

The team captain says that he previously received a message on Instagram containing threats against his children.

- There was someone who wrote that I would take care of my child.

These are things that are not fun to read and really unintelligent to write, Christiansen says and points out that he forwarded the message to the club's press manager Peter Sohlmér.

Christiansen's son was two years old at the time.

In addition to the team captains' stories, the GP's review also highlights that national team players are hard hit by hatred.

As recently as last summer when the then national team striker Marcus Berg was exposed to net hatred.

The police then initiated a preliminary investigation.
