To commemorate his participation in the Major League Baseball All-Star Game, a monument featuring the handprints of Shohei Ohtani and Yusei Kikuchi was completed, and the unveiling ceremony was held at Hanamaki Higashi High School, Iwate's mother school.

The monument was completed near the ground of the baseball club of Hanamaki Higashi High School, the alma mater of Shohei Ohtani and Yusei Kikuchi, and the unveiling ceremony was held on the 13th.



Sadaichi Takada, Chairman of the Hanamaki Onsenkyo Tourism Promotion Council, who created the monument, said, "They have achieved the feat of being selected as an All-Star Game together. Their activities are encouraging us."



The monument is 2 meters high and 1 meter wide, and the uniform of the Hanamaki Higashi High School baseball club says "From Hanamaki to the World", as well as the signatures and handprints of Otani and Kikuchi.

Junzo Odashima, Principal of Hanamaki Higashi High School, said, "I want you to become a symbol of finding the courage and hope of the students."



A 70-year-old man in the city who saw the monument said, "I am happy to have a wonderful monument as a citizen."
