Manchester City dominated the home game last week, and won deservedly with 1-0 after a goal by Kevin de Bruyne.

Even in tonight's return to Spain, City were dominant for long periods, although they - with a few exceptions - had a hard time creating hot chances.

The foot writhed in pain

Hot, it was in the final minutes of the match.

After Phil Foden was tackled by Felipe at the sideline, Foden lay off the field and writhed in agony.

But when Foden then rolled onto the pitch, Felipe's teammate Stefan Savic rushed forward and tried to get Foden off the pitch, and then a full commotion broke out where basically all the players on the pitch - and the substitutes - stood and pushed each other.

Several chances in overtime

After a couple of minutes of fuss, it all ended with a red card on Felipe, which meant that Atletico had to end their hunt for a goal - which they needed to take the match to extra time - with one man less.

And they did not succeed.

During the long extra time, both teams had their chances, but there were no goals.

Thus, the Premier League team City is on to the semifinals, where City will face Real Madrid.

In the second semi-final, Liverpool will face Villarreal.
