Muslim basketball player Keri Irving explained his remarkable brilliance with his Brooklyn Nets team in their victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers - on Tuesday evening - 115 points to 108 - by his keenness on fasting.

Irving scored 34 points and made 12 assists, 9 points behind his teammate Kevin Durant, who scored 25 points and made 11 assists.

In an interview after the meeting, Irving was asked about the secret of his brilliance in Tuesday's match, although he confirmed - earlier - that he played while fasting, which means a small amount of energy in the body most of the day.

"It's been ups and it's been downs, but we've stayed together." @KyrieIrving caught up with @JaredSGreenberg after the Nets clinched their spot in the #NBAPlayoffs.

The Muslim player responded to the question, saying, "Well, it's a journey with God. I'm not alone in this; I have brothers and sisters all over the world who fast with me."

He added, "We stick to our prayers and meditation, and when I come here, I feel that God is with me.. God is with you.. God is with us all, so I walk with faith, that's all that matters."

He concluded, "When I have the opportunity to do it on this court, and accurately show my God-given talent, I am very grateful."
