Moa Lundgren has a difficult season behind her.

With the Olympics as a goal, which she was not selected for, the season has instead been fraught with injuries and illnesses.

At the Swedish Championships in Piteå, she ran a race, but then fell ill with corona.

- I felt that I had a fever and a very sore throat, I had expected it to be a three-day cold, she says.

She then isolated herself at her parents' home in Umeå.

- I had the sickest muscle pain and could not sleep through the nights because I had so much pain in my legs.

Not trained in two weeks

Lundgren, who has not trained since she fell ill, is on the road to recovery, but remembers the isolation with horror.

- When I went up the stairs I felt that I did not get any air, it felt like too narrow in the trachea to get the air down in the lungs, as if it had almost grown back.

I had difficulty breathing and a pressure over my chest, she says.

After being infected with the virus for almost three weeks, the cross-country skier is soon looking forward to returning to training and starting to charge for next season.

- I hope I can start a little this week, she says.
