Swedish basketball profile Jonas Jerebko chose to go to the Russian club CSKA Moscow - despite the country's ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

On Sunday, the 35-year-old made his debut for his new club.

After the victory against Astana - where Jerebko accounted for 12 points - he is praised by his new coach.

- He got right into it, with good momentum when we were below.

He contributed with three points, spread the ball well, shot well and defended well, says Dimitrios Itoudis in a clip that the club posted.

Jerebko: "Make it easy"

Jerebko himself says the following about his first match:

- I just came here.

I had a training week on me to get into it, but my teammates make it easy for me.

They find me in the right positions.

Jerebko's move has aroused anger in the sports world and he has, among other things, been suspended from the national team and had his contract broken with a major sponsor.
