Italy freezes a villa owned by a Russian Formula Driver and his father. Its price is shocking!

The Italian authorities announced on Monday the freezing of a villa worth 100 million euros in Sardinia, owned by Russian Formula One driver Nikita Mazepin and his father, Dmitri, over their country's invasion of Ukraine.

According to a government official, the financial police issued an order to freeze the villa "Roque Ram" in Porto Cervo, on the picturesque Costa Smeralda coast in the north-east of the Italian island.

The US Formula One Haas team decided to dispense with the services of its 23-year-old driver Mazepin last month, following the war launched by Russia against Ukraine.

Days later, Nikita was added to the list of Russians sanctioned by the European Union, along with his father, Dmitriy, the owner and CEO of the chemical giant Uralchem.

Italy froze hundreds of millions of euros of property, especially villas and luxury yachts belonging to wealthy Russians who were sanctioned following Moscow's invasion of its neighbour.
