Ruta Meilutyte is one of many stars competing in the Swim Open, the annual major swimming competition in Stockholm.

Just before she went to Sweden, she did a swim that got a lot of attention.

In a pond in front of the Russian embassy in Vilnius, she swam in blood-colored water.

- I wanted to do it to give more people the opportunity to do something.

Nothing is too small.

If you have not already done something, it is time to donate, to show that you care.

It's easy to get blunted over all the horrible pictures, says Ruta Meilutyte who took Olympic gold in the 100 meter breaststroke in London ten years ago, 15 years old.

- If we want to live in a Europe and a world of democracy and peace, we can not be silent about what is happening in Ukraine with the genocide, murder and rape, she says.

In the video that was posted, there was a message written on a road by the dam: "Putin, The Hague is waiting for you", as a reference to the fact that the International Criminal Court is located in The Hague in the Netherlands.

What reactions have you received?

- Very positive, we have received so many greetings and thanks, from people in Ukraine as well.

Many divisions, many of the largest news channels in the world have drawn attention to it, the BBC, the Washington Post, The Guardian.

We feel that we have achieved what we wanted, she says.
