Tennis star Serena Williams' return to the competition court is approaching.

The 40-year-old has not played a single match since she was forced to break in the opening set in Wimbledon's first round last summer, her hope is that the next match will be in the traditional grand slam tournament.

- We've talked about comeback and he (Aaron Rodgers, star quarterback in the NFL) has tagged me and got me ready for Wimbledon.

Longing, says Serena Williams.

- I have to play Wimbledon first, it feels exciting.

Serena Williams due to her injury-plagued year stuck in 23 grand slam tournaments, in pursuit of breaking Margaret Smith Court's record of 24. Williams' latest grand slam win came at the 2017 Australian Open.

Wimbledon 2022 will be decided between 27 June and 10 July.
