Klopp: Beating City will not guarantee Liverpool's title

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp said that "beating champions Manchester City next Sunday will not guarantee his team the English Premier League title," stressing the necessity of his team's keenness to win all its remaining matches in the season to ensure the coronation.

Many say that the result of next Sunday's match in Manchester will determine the destination of the championship title, as the victory of leaders City will widen the difference between the two teams to four points, before the last seven games of the season, while Liverpool's victory will put it in the lead.

"If we win against City, which is a really difficult task, I don't think many people would think it was done because of the quality of the opponent," Klopp told reporters.

"Everyone knows how important the next match is. But after this match, there will be other matches in other leagues and in the Premier League as well," the veteran German coach added.

City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne said that the season will not end with next Sunday's match, but there are many matches left.

"Every player wants to win matches and trophies. To achieve this goal, you have to win such big matches. But if you win, draw or lose, there are many games left in front of you as well," the Belgian added on City's website.
