Frölunda got a dream start in Vida Arena in Växjö.

After four minutes played, it was 2-0 until the guests signed Stefan Elliot and Jan Mursak.

A result that also stood the test of time.

In the second period, it was Växjö's turn to get a dream start when Richard Gynge found the net behind Matt Tomkins.

But the hope was quickly extinguished when Frölunda, a few minutes later, extended his lead to 1-3 through the super talent Elmer Söderblom.

The visitors continued to press and in the middle of the second period could extend their lead once again.

This time in numerical superiority where Filip Johansson got a very nice shot straight up into the net roof.

But Växjö did not give up but continued to line up chance after chance but the middle period ended 1-4.

Three-goal disadvantage before the last period

Växjö had 20 minutes to catch up with a three-goal deficit to keep the season alive.

With six minutes left, Olle Lycksell was able to score an important reduction goal in numerical superiority.

With four minutes left, the home team chose to pick the goalkeeper for one last forcing - but they did not get closer than that.

Andreas Borgman was able to push Frölunda to the semifinals in an open goal cage with one minute and five seconds.

Frölunda thus took their fourth straight win and Växjö and Sam Hallam era is over for this time.
