New Zealand sports star Sonny Bill Williams shared, with his followers on his Twitter account, his and his family's experience of fasting during Ramadan, for the 13th year in a row since his conversion to Islam in 2009.

On the first of April, Williams published a video clip of him congratulating his followers on the advent of Ramadan, and wishing them security, health and peace.

He also shared in a tweet on the second day of Ramadan his happiness with the attendance of many for the Fajr prayer, where he said, "Praise be to God for seeing a lot in the Al-Fajr Mosque today, Ramadan is a special time."

And he expressed - in another tweet - about the joy of Ramadan for him, saying, "Praise be to God for the month of Ramadan. The benefits of this blessed month are endless. I am currently doing my daily duty as a father, and although my stomach is empty, my heart is full. Thank God for everything that God has given me, Especially those little guys who bring me so much happiness."

Williams also shared a photo of his suhoor, and another of him performing Tarawih prayers with his wife and two daughters.

Williams, a New Zealand heavyweight boxer and former rugby player, is one of only 21 players to win the Rugby World Cup twice.
