Manchester City and Liverpool won the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.

Manchester City beat Atletico Madrid 1-0 in the first leg of the quarterfinals at the City of Manchester Stadium in Manchester, England.

In the match between Manchester City, the champions of the English Premier League last season, and Atlético Madrid, who won the Spanish La Liga, it was a match where Manchester City had a one-sided advantage.

Manchester City dominated Atlético Madrid with 67%-33% of attack possession that day, and recorded 15-0 in shooting count.

If you look at indicators such as 2-0 on effective shooting and 9-0 corner kicks, it is rather disappointing that Manchester City won 1-0.

After finishing the first half 0-0, Manchester City had a chance to score with Kevin De Bruyne's powerful free kick in the 10th minute and Raheem Sterling's shot in the 11th minute.

In the end, the only goal of the day came in the 25th minute of the second half.

De Bruyne opened the goal for Atlético Madrid with a right-footed shot from inside the penalty area after receiving a pass from Phil Foden.

The two teams will decide which team to advance to the semi-finals through the second leg of the Atlético Madrid home match on the 14th.

Liverpool won 3-1 at Benfica to advance to the quarterfinals.

Liverpool took the lead in the 17th minute when Ibrahima Konate headed in the ball from Andy Robertson from a corner kick.

In the 34th minute, Sadio Mane added another goal to lead the game 2-0.

Home team Benfica counterattacked with a goal in the early part of the second half.

Liverpool's Konate could not clear a ground cross raised by Harfa from the right flank and Darwin Nunes calmly kicked the ball, catching up 2-1.

However, in the end, the equalizer that the home fans wanted did not come, and in the 42nd minute of the second half, Liverpool's Luis Dias even passed the keeper and left-footed shot through the net to put the game into play.

The second leg between the two teams will also be played at home to Liverpool on the 14th.
