The children's sumo tournament was held for the first time in two years, sponsored by Hakuho's former yokozuna, Hakuho, and about 550 elementary and junior high school students showed their passionate efforts.

The tournament named "Hakuho Cup" has been held since 2010 by former yokozuna Hakuho Magaki for the spread and development of sumo.

Since it was canceled last year due to the influence of the new coronavirus, it was held for the first time in two years, and it was held for the first time since Mr. Magaki retired from active duty after the place last fall.

Approximately 550 elementary and junior high school students participated this time, and at the opening ceremony, Mr. Magaki said, "We can finally hold it for the first time in two years. I want you to put out what you are doing. "

After that, efforts began in each grade, and Master Magaki applauded the children's fierce battle.

In addition, overseas teams also participated in Ototoshima, but this time there was no participation due to the influence of the new corona, and instead a video message from children was sent and it was shown at the venue.

Mr. Magaki said, "I remembered it at the first tournament when I became a master. I can't say big things, but I want to do my best 15 times and 20 times one by one."
