125 countries at the opening of the Fencing World Cup in Dubai

The World Fencing Championship for Youth and Youth UAE 2022 will kick off today, Saturday, at the Hamdan Sports Complex, until April 10, with the participation of 125 countries, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, and in the presence of Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi. The official opening ceremony of the tournament will be held at the third, tomorrow, Sunday, in the Hamdan Sports Complex, which has completed all the preparations to host the tournament, after covering the swimming pools and diving, and dividing the floors according to the specifications of the International Fencing Federation, to host more than one match at one time.

The competitions will be held on 20 stadiums in the complex from eight in the morning until six in the evening throughout the tournament, in the three weapons, the fluorescent weapon, the fencing sword (epi) and the Arab sword (sabber) for singles and teams for males and females for youth under 20 years, and singles for juniors under 17 years, with the participation of 1,600 male and female players, representing 125 countries.

The past days witnessed the registration of the players participating in the tournament, during which the arbitration feature will be used using video in all competitions, after the participating delegations began arriving in the country from last Tuesday, and entered the continuous training camp until April 7, which was set up by the Federation.
