FC Schalke 04 has temporarily climbed to relegation place three in the 2nd Bundesliga.

On Friday evening, the Gelsenkircheners came to a 2-1 (1-0) draw at Dynamo Dresden.

A double strike from Simon Terodde shortly before the break with a foul penalty (45th) and six minutes after the break decided the game in front of a capacity crowd of 30,273 in Dresden for the first time in two years.

Paul Will's goal (70') added excitement to the final phase, but the equalizer was no longer possible.

Dynamo remains unsuccessful in 2022 and occupies relegation place 16.

In an unspectacular first half, which started a little late due to pyrotechnics igniting in the Dresden block, the hosts were the more active team, but without any outstanding chances.

After a clumsy foul by Will on Terodde in the penalty area, Schalke's top striker used the penalty kick to take the lead.

With his second goal, Terodde temporarily got on the nerves of the hosts.

But instead of making it 3-0, Dynamo caught up after a standard.

The guests then withdrew and tried to save the result over time.

This was achieved with concentrated defensive behavior, so that Dynamo no longer had great opportunities.

Ingolstadt drama in the final minutes

In the sleet, FC Ingolstadt got the minimal chance of a rescue miracle in the 2nd Bundesliga after an early dismissal for FC Erzgebirge Aue.

The bottom of the table won 3-2 (2-0) against the penultimate on Friday evening after a turbulent final phase.

In front of 4189 spectators, substitute Andreas Poulsen scored the winning goal for the hosts with a wonderfully placed long-range shot in added time.

Patrick Schmidt (24th minute) and Visar Musliu (28th) scored in Schanzer's 300th second division game.

Substitute Antonio Jonjic (69') and Sören Gonther (89') almost rewarded Aue's fighting spirit with a draw with ten men.

After the red card for Aue's attacker Prince Osei Owusu, who foolishly attacked FCI captain Marcel Gaus in the 7th minute, the FCI only used their superiority in the basement duel in the first half.

Coach Rüdiger Rehm's team closed the gap on Aue to just one point with 18 points.

Even relegation rank 16, which Dynamo Dresden occupies (28 points), can hardly be reached.

Schmidt scored before the break after a combination via Florian Pick and Filip Bilbija.

Macedonian international Musliu raised his head from a corner kick.

The guests fought back after the break with ten men.

Jonjic scored after a single action, Gonther dusted off.

Then came Poulsen.
