It is not an easy life for Djurgården right now.

In the event of a loss against Timrå on Saturday, it will be goodbye to the SHL, and to stay put, four straight victories are required.

A leaden autumn where the Stockholm team was a clear jumbo led to a coach change where coach Barry Smith and sports director Joakim Eriksson left the club.

Joakim Fagervall took over as head coach and KG Stoppel stepped into the role of sports manager.

And it started to turn around for Djurgården.

They were among the strongest teams in the league and for a while were close to escaping a relegation qualifier.

But that did not happen and now you are a match from being relegated.

- For every match we do not win, it becomes stiffer and more thoughtful instead of going on pure instinct.

It simply becomes more and more frustrating, says KG Stoppel.

"Damn frustrated"

At the Court on Thursday evening, there were strong reactions in the stands when parts chanted "resign from the board".

It's not just in the stands that it's frustrated.

Stoppel also feels great frustration.

- It's hard and damn frustrated.

But somewhere I knew this when I went into it, says Stoppel.

What would a degradation mean?

- Hard to say.

This is not something that has come now in the end, but it has been going on for quite some time.

I do not want to speculate here and now, we will end this match series and then we will take it from there, he says.

Loobs three points

SVT Sports expert Håkan Loob points to three points that form the basis for Djurgården being where they are:

* Wrong that Barry Smith was hired.

* The team captain problem.

* Joakim Eriksson's failed team building.

- KG Stoppel does a very good job but what ended for him was time.

They had a good trend at the end.

But if you want to forget about autumn and catch up on everything, you may need a little more time, he says in Hockey Night.
