The Egyptian national team star, Mohamed Abdel Moneim, underwent surgery after the end of the Senegal match, which means he was absent from the return match in Senegal, after he was injured in the first half of the two teams’ match, which was held Friday at Cairo International Stadium.

The coach of the Egyptian national team, Portuguese Queiroz, confirmed that the player underwent urgent surgery after his injury, which is a broken nose, as the coach said during the press conference after the match: “Mohamed Abdel Moneim’s injury, a broken nose, and what I learned was that he would undergo a quick surgery.”

The Egyptian team had won a difficult victory at the expense of Senegal in the meeting that brought them together in the first leg of the 2022 World Cup qualifying match, with a goal without a response that came in the fourth minute and from a mistake by the Senegalese defender.

After the match, the coach added: "Mohamed Abdel Moneim will not travel to Senegal to play the return match, next Tuesday, which means that the Egyptian team will lack players in the defense line."

The Egyptian player, Mohamed Al-Moneim, asked his followers to pray, after posting a picture through his personal account on the social networking site Instagram, while he was preparing to enter the operating room in order to undergo surgery and wrote in his comment on the photo, “Lord”, a few moments before the operation was performed, in a sign To ask for prayers for him after this difficult injury.

Abdel Moneim tried to return to the match and went to the field twice, wishing to complete the match, but Nazif Al-Damaa did not stand, which made the coach replace him before the end of the first half.
