Sweden finished fourth in the regular season with the smallest possible margin and was forced to a playoff match against the USA to reach the semifinals of the championship in Canadian Prince George.

And it started well for team Hasselborg.

Sweden took the lead with 2-0 after three rounds and led 4-3 with three rounds left.

But team Hasselborg had a hard time picking more than one point in the rounds against the USA - which put pressure on Sweden with a two-pointer in the eighth round.

That meant an American lead of 5-4 and a Swedish disadvantage for the first time in the match.

When the USA increased to 6-4 in the penultimate round, Sweden was bad.

But the USA really missed in the last round, where Sweden showed coldness and took home the round with 4-0 and thus secured the victory, 8-6.

In the semifinals, Sweden will face Switzerland, the reigning world champion.

The semi-finals are played at 04, the night before Sunday Swedish time and the final is played the night before Monday.
