The Swedes were already qualified for the playoffs and are second in the table with nine wins and three losses after the group game.

Leading is Swiss team Silvana Tirinzoni who so far in the championship is undefeated.

After a low-scoring start, team Hasselborg went up to a 3-0 lead in the fourth round, but the Norwegians responded with two straight points in the two subsequent rounds.

However, the Olympic bronze medalists from Beijing did not let Norway, led by skipper Kristin Skaslien, get any closer than that.

After round eight, Sweden had 6-2 and Norway, with the last stone in round nine, had to get a full hit to be able to challenge.

But it was only one point and the Norwegians gave up.

Norway thus ends up in ninth place and are eliminated.

The semifinals are played at 4 o'clock, the night before Sunday Swedish time and the final is played the night before Monday.
